தலைகீழா நின்றாலும் தமிழ் படத்தை தவிர மற்ற மொழி படங்களை பாக்கிறதில்லைனு ஒரு திமிறுல இருந்தேன் 2008க்கு முன்னே. தண்ணி, தம்மு என எந்த கெட்ட பழக்கமும் இல்லாததனால (நம்புங்கப்பா) எனக்கு சினிமாதான் ஒரே பொழுதுபோக்கு, தமிழ் படஙகள் வ்ராத நாட்களில் Youtube தான் கைகொடுக்கும்.
திரும்ப திரும்ப எத்தனை தடவை தான் பாடலையும்/நகைச்சுவையையும் கேட்பது, கொஞ்சம் போர் அடிக்க ஆரம்பித்த போது தான், சரி கொஞ்சம் ஹாலிவுட் படங்களையும் தான் பார்ப்போமே என்று தோன்றியது.
முதல்ல கிடச்ச படத்த பார்த்தேன். அப்புறம் ராபர்ட் டி நீரோ, அல் பசினோ படங்களையும், மார்டின் ஸ்கார்சஸி, ஆல்பிரட் ஹிட்ச்காக் படங்களையும் பார்த்தேன், அடுத்து, ஸ்கார்லெட் ஜோஹான்ஸன், நேட்டலி போட்மேன் படங்கள், தொடர்ந்தது ஆங்கிலம் அல்லாத அயல் மொழி படங்கள்(ஜபபான், பிரென்சு, இத்தாலி) படங்களும் பட்டியலில் இடம்பெற்றன. படங்களை பற்றி தெரிந்து கொள்ளுவதற்காக ஒரு வருட சந்தாவில் Entertainment Weekly வார இதழையும் வாங்கினேன். படங்கள் தொடர்பான எனது தேடலில் லைப்ரேரியன் Lynda அவர்களின் பங்கு அளப்பரியது.
